S.T.R.I.V.E.
Students Teaching Relationship Intervention thru Violence Education (S.T.R.I.V.E.) is designed to prevent and reduce relationship violence perpetrated by juveniles.
The program includes the following components are:
- 6 week educational series
- Parent and family support
- Public awareness & education
- Teen peer mentoring
The mission of the S.T.R.I.V.E. Juvenile Domestic Violence Prevention Program is to educate juveniles about relationship violence by linking primary prevention education with post-crisis intervention in order to challenge and interrupt the intergenerational cycle of domestic violence.
The ultimate goal of the S.T.R.I.V.E. Juvenile Domestic Violence Prevention Program program is to prevent future incidences of violence. The preteen and teen life stage is an ideal time to promote healthy relationships and prevent patterns of violence that can last into adulthood. The S.T.R.I.V.E. Juvenile Domestic Violence Prevention Program challenges the attitudes and behaviors linked with abuse. The educational, parental, social consciousness and teen mentoring components integrate to form a multi-dimensional framework that is research-based strategies of violence prevention.
